En Normandie comme ailleurs, la scène metal, peu valorisée et souvent considérée à la marge par un grand nombre de programmateurs, n’en est pas moins conséquente, active et rassembleuse. Le cercle de fans ou d’initiés est considérable et toujours très mobilisé pour soutenir les groupes qu’il aime. La communauté metal est une réalité, même si les sous genres qui composent cette musique peuvent parfois revêtir des aspects claniques. Les valeurs et les codes unissent… on est là pour la musique et pour bien plus, car comme le dit si bien Mass Hystéria : « Jeunes, vieux et la marmaille en mode geek ou à l'ancienne… l'unité dans l'ivresse… c’est plus que du metal… ».
NORMA vous propose une liste des groupes de metal qui composent cette scène normande, sans doute non exhaustive (les oubliés peuvent toujours se manifester). Du heavy metal le plus classique à l’extrême noirceur du black metal sans oublier les trublions du pagan et les rageux du metalcore…
